Prepare your catalog and resources
Items and stock, kits, spaces, staff, vehicles, the service catalog, prices and consignment owners, in the order we recommend.

Before you can rent anything, it has to be in Filmo: the equipment, the spaces, the people and vehicles, and the services you sell. Each family has its own catalog. Here's the order we recommend, using what the Landmark Venues wedding needs.
Build your catalog
- Create the equipment «Create item», and choose «Bulk» or «Serialized». The 120 Chiavari chairs are bulk; each frame tent is serialized. Once an item has stock you can't switch. See Create an item and Serialized and bulk items.
- Add the stock With «Add stock», by receiving a purchase order, or with a subrental from an order. Each entry goes to a space and, in a warehouse, to a location. See Add stock to an item and Organize a warehouse into aisles, shelves and levels.
- Group kits Put together what you always add together. A has no stock of its own. See Create a kit.
- Create your spaces The spaces you rent out and the warehouses where you keep equipment. See Create a space.
- Add staff and vehicles One record per person and per vehicle, with their absences or unavailable dates. See Add a staff member and Add a vehicle to your fleet.
- Build the service catalog «Crew» services are charged by the hour and assigned to people, «Fleet» by the kilometer and assigned to vehicles, and «General» is a fixed amount. See Create a service.
- Price everything Give each item, kit, space and service its price, or use price templates. See Set an item's rental price and Pricing modes.
- Record consignment owners, if any If you rent out equipment that others own, assign it to its . See Assign owners to consigned equipment.
- Check occupancy Each resource has its calendar; in the staff and vehicle calendars you can drag services onto people and vehicles. See How resource calendars work.
Loading many at once? Each catalog has its importer. See Import your data into Filmo.
What doesn't happen on its own
- People and vehicles aren't order lines: they come in assigned to a service, which sets the price and the cost. The rates on a staff member's record aren't applied to the order.
- A service exists in three forms that don't update each other: in the catalog, as an order line and as an .
- A space has no quantity: it's free or occupied. The order always shows the space as it is now, and if you delete the space, the line is left without one.
- An incident only takes a resource out of circulation if it .
