Project types
Administrators create the types that classify projects, such as shoot or event, in Settings → Operations → Projects → Project types.
Account administrators with the «Projects» permission manage the types. Anyone who can edit a project chooses its type.
Not shown in , which use their parent account's types.
A classifies your projects, such as shoot, event or post-production, so you can filter the list by it. Each account defines its own.
Where to find it
Go to «Settings» → «Operations» → «Projects» → «Project types». From the create dialog or a project, the «Configure» link opens the same page in another tab, for administrators.
Create a type
- Start a new type Click «New type».
- Fill it in Enter the «Name», such as “Event”, choose the «Color» and, if you want, a «Description».
- Save Click «Save».
Options
| Option | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Name | What the type is called in the list, the filters and the project. Required, and unique in your account. | — |
| Color | The color the project takes when you choose this type on the project page | Blue |
| Description | A note for your team about when to use it | Empty |
| Uses | How many projects have this type. You can't edit it. | — |
Good to know
- Deleting a type doesn't delete any project. The projects that used it are left as «No type», as the «Delete project type» dialog warns.
- Two types can't share a name, also when you rename one.
- The «Templates» tab on the same page is empty («No templates available»).
- Create the types before you import projects from a file: the import only uses types that already exist.
