Why can't I reserve an order?
Filmo only reserves a saved draft with everything available on its dates. Here's what stops a reservation and how to fix each cause.
People with the «Orders» permission in edit mode. With view mode you can open orders but not change them.
You click «Reserve» and nothing is held, or the button isn't there at all. Filmo only reserves a saved draft whose equipment is all available on its dates, so something about the order doesn't meet that yet.
What you'll see
- There's no «Reserve» button at the top of the order.
- Filmo asks you to save the order before reserving it.
- A message such as «Order syncing» or “Could not verify availability”.
- The window, with what's «Needed», «Available» and «Missing».
Why it happens
- The order isn't saved. This can happen if it's a new order: it needs «Save draft» before it can be reserved.
- There are unsaved changes. This can happen if you've changed something and the «Unsaved changes» bar is still showing.
- The order isn't a draft. This can happen if it's already reserved or further along, or if it's cancelled or completed. Only a «Draft» can be reserved.
- The order is archived. This can happen if someone archived the draft: it opens read-only and its actions are disabled.
- You only have view access. This can happen if your «Orders» permission is in view mode: you see the order, but not the buttons that change it.
- The order is being updated. This can happen if it's changing at that very moment; you'll see «Order syncing».
- The availability check didn't finish. This can happen if the check fails. Nothing is reserved.
- Something is short on the order's dates. This can happen if another reserved order has the equipment, if the overlaps with another job, if units are blocked by an incident, or if a unit with a is already on another order. Filmo reserves the whole order or nothing.
How to fix it
- Save the order Click «Save draft» on a new order, or «Save» in the «Unsaved changes» bar.
- Check its status If it isn't «Draft», it can't be reserved. A cancelled order can't come back, but you can duplicate it to get a new draft.
- Unarchive it if it's archived Click «Unarchive order» at the top of the order.
- Reserve again Click «Reserve», then «Confirm reservation».
- Sort out anything that's short If «Resource conflict» appears, see Fix a resource conflict.
Note: A that takes an item below its minimum stock doesn't stop the reservation: Filmo warns you and reserves anyway.

If the order is a saved draft, nothing is short and it still won't reserve, contact support and include the order number.
