Archive an order
Hide drafts and cancelled orders from your list without losing them, and unarchive them whenever you need them.
People with the «Orders» permission in edit mode. With view mode you can open orders but not change them.
Over time your list fills up with drafts that never went anywhere and jobs that were called off. Archiving takes them out of the list without losing them: the order keeps everything and you can bring it back at any time.
Before you start
You can only archive an order that's «Draft» or «Cancelled». To archive a reserved order, cancel its reservation or cancel the order first.
Archive the order
The Landmark Venues wedding was cancelled. Let's clear it out of the list.
- Open the menu On the order, click «⋯» and choose «Archive order».
- Find it later In the list, turn on the «Archived» filter.
What changes
- The order leaves your list. With the «Archived» filter on, it shows the «Archived» badge.
- It opens read-only, and its actions are disabled.
- Nothing else changes: it keeps its status, lines and documents, and it doesn't hold or free any stock.
Unarchive an order
- Find it In the list, turn on the «Archived» filter and open the order.
- Unarchive it Click «Unarchive order» at the top of the order.
The order is back in your list with all its actions, in the same status it had.
Frequently asked questions
No. Orders are never deleted. An archived order is only hidden from the list, and you can unarchive it.
No. It's a flag, not a status: an archived draft is still a draft, and an archived cancelled order is still cancelled.
