Why can't I delete an order?

Orders are never deleted, so you keep their history. Cancel a job that isn't happening, archive it to clear your list, or delete its lines.

People with the «Orders» permission in edit mode. With view mode you can open orders but not change them.

There's no way to delete an order in Filmo, and that's on purpose: you never lose the history of a job, its documents or what it did to your stock. What you can do instead depends on what you're after.

What you'll see

The order's «⋯» menu has «Cancel order» and «Archive order», but no option to delete it. On some orders, even one of those two is missing.

«Archive order» and «Cancel order» are at the bottom of the menu, with no delete.

Why it happens

  • Orders are never deleted. This applies to every order, whatever its status.
  • «Cancel order» isn't offered. This can happen if equipment has already gone out: an order can only be cancelled up to «Prepared». From then on it carries on through delivery and return.
  • «Archive order» isn't offered. This can happen if the order isn't a draft or cancelled: only those can be archived.

How to fix it

If you want toDo this
Call off a job that isn't happening«⋯» → «Cancel order». All its equipment is freed.
Clear an order out of your listCancel it if it isn't a draft, then «⋯» → «Archive order».
Remove something you added by mistakeDelete the line: select it and choose «Bulk actions» → «Delete lines». A prepared line has to be unmarked on the «Delivery» page first.
Stop part of a job that's already outOn the «Delivery» page, cancel a group of dates that has nothing delivered yet.
Get back a job you cancelledDuplicate it: the copy is a new draft with the same client, equipment and prices.

Say the Landmark Venues wedding was a duplicate you made by mistake. Here's how to take it out of your list:

  1. Cancel it On the order, click «⋯» → «Cancel order» and confirm with «Yes, cancel order».
  2. Archive it Click «⋯» → «Archive order».
  3. Find it later Turn on the «Archived» filter in the list.

Cancelling can't be undone, and Filmo doesn't ask for a reason. Archiving changes nothing else: the order keeps its status, lines and documents, and «Unarchive order» brings it back to your list.

Note: Cancelling the order doesn't change the documents made from it: quotes, invoices, contracts and keep their status and stay in its «Documents» card. If one no longer applies, deal with it on its own page.
