Student projects in Campus
Students create projects in the Campus app, invite classmates with a code, share orders, a chat and files. What your team sees in Filmo.
Students and teachers create and manage these projects in the . Your team sees them in «Projects».
Only in . Projects in the app need an approved request and a .
Students rarely work alone: a documentary is shot by a crew of four. In the app they group themselves into projects, so the whole crew sees the equipment requested for the shoot, talks in one chat and shares files.
A project created in the is a normal Filmo project. Its creator is the owner and main client; classmates join with the and appear in Filmo as additional contacts. For Laura's documentary, she creates “Riverbank Documentary” and shares the code with her three classmates.
How a project starts
- It's created in the app with a name and, if the student wants, dates, a location, and an image. Without dates, it runs from that moment to seven days later.
- It starts «In progress», with the creator's as main client, and Filmo generates the code to invite others. The description the app asks for isn't saved.
- Classmates join by typing the code; small letters work too. The project must belong to the same institution. The members get a notification when someone joins.
- A is created for the members.
Project statuses in the app
| In the app | Statuses in Filmo |
|---|---|
| Active | «Draft», «Quoted», «Confirmed», «In progress» |
| Closed | «Completed», «Invoiced» |
| Cancelled | «Cancelled» |
| Archived | Any archived project, whatever its status |
From the app, the owner or the creator can move a project to active («In progress»), closed («Completed») or archived. Unlike Filmo on the web, the app lets them archive a project in any status.
Who can do what
| Action | Who |
|---|---|
| Edit the name, location, dates and image | The owner, the creator or a collaborator |
| Change the status | Only the owner or the creator |
| Leave the project | A collaborator; the owner can't |
| See the project's orders and their documents | Every member |
| Cancel an order or sign its deliveries and returns | Only the order's contact |
What your team sees
- The project in «Projects», with the collaborators as additional contacts. If you change its participants in Filmo, the chat members follow.
- The orders sent for it, each in the name of the student who sent it.
- Its project , if the members write to you. See Answer Campus support chats.
- Not the project chat: it's only between the members, and your team can't open it.
Project files in the Campus app
Members can see the project's folders and files, create folders, and upload, download and delete files. They're the same files your team sees on the project in Filmo.
- Any member can delete any file in the project, not only their own.
- Each new file notifies the project's members.
- Downloads use a link that expires after one hour.
- From the app, students reach only the files of their own projects, never the account's invoices, orders or contacts.
Warning: Because any member can delete any file in the project, keep your own copy of the files that matter.
