How sessions work

Each person has one web session and one mobile app session; signing in on another browser ends the other web session.

You probably open Filmo on the office computer, on a laptop at the venue and on your phone in the warehouse. Filmo keeps that simple: one web session and one mobile app session for each person.

A is your signed-in state in one browser or in the mobile app. It works like a hotel key card: when reception gives you a new one, the old card stops opening the door. Sign in on the venue laptop, and the session on the office computer ends. That's why you may find yourself signed out of a browser you left open.

One web session and one mobile session

Where you sign inWhat happens to your other sessions
Another browser or computerYour previous web session ends. Your mobile app session stays.
The mobile appYour previous mobile app session ends. Your web session stays.

The old web session doesn't close at once: it stops working the next time that window reloads Filmo. Until then, most actions there still go through.

Sign out

Click «Log out» in the user menu, at the bottom of the sidebar. It ends the session in that browser only.

When a session ends

Why was I signed out?

  • This can happen if you signed in on another browser or computer: your previous web session ended when that window reloaded.
  • This can happen if an administrator removed you from the account. Filmo moves you to another account you belong to, the last one you used, or leaves you with none.
  • This can happen if you left the account yourself with «Leave account».

Sign in again. If you were removed by mistake, ask an administrator of that account to invite you again.

Good to know

  • There's no screen that lists your open sessions or closes them from a distance. To end the session on a computer you no longer use, sign in on another browser: the old web session ends.
  • Filmo keeps no record of sign-ins or failed attempts. The records changes to the account, not sign-ins.
  • There's no two-step verification or company single sign-on. Google is the only outside provider you can sign in with.
  • When Filmo staff help you inside your account, they use their own access, not your session.
