Edit or delete a price template
Change a template's tiers for new lines without touching existing orders, and move its items before deleting it so they keep their prices.
Account administrators: the «Super administrator» and «Administrator» roles, and the account owner.
Prices change: a new season, a new supplier, a competitor. Because every item that uses a template follows it, changing the template is the quickest way to reprice a whole family of equipment. It also means the change reaches further than one item, so check what it touches first.
Edit a template
Say you want a weekend of tents to cost a little less, so you lower the three-day tier from ×2.5 to ×2.2.
- Open the templates Go to «Settings → Resources → Price templates».
- Open the template In the “Tents by duration” row, open the actions menu and click «Edit».
- Change the tiers Change the multiplier of the “3 days” rule to 2.2. You can also change the name, the , the rules or the increment.
- Save Click «Update». «Discard» closes the window without saving.
What changes and what doesn't
| Uses the new tiers? | |
|---|---|
| New lines on orders, for every item and space that uses the template | Yes |
| Space lines already on orders, the next time the order is opened or their billable days change | Yes |
| Requests from the web catalog | Yes |
| Item lines already on orders | No: they keep the copy of the template they were added with |
| Quotes, proformas and invoices already created | No |
So a Landmark Venues order made yesterday keeps charging €1,000 per tent for three days, and the next order you create charges €880. To reprice a line already on an order, see Change the price of an order line.
Warning: Turning off on a template that already has one doesn't remove it: the template keeps charging the previous increment, and the table still shows it. To stop charging an increment, create a new template without one and move your items and spaces to it.
Delete a template
Warning: The confirmation says the items using the template won't be affected, but they are. An item with a template doesn't keep a copy of its tiers: once the template is deleted, its price becomes its per day, or 0 if it has none. Move the items and spaces that use it to another template first.
- Move the items first Give the items that use it another template, with «Bulk actions» in the items list. See Edit several items at once.
- Open the template's menu In «Settings → Resources → Price templates», open the row's actions menu.
- Delete it Click «Delete» and confirm.
The template disappears and can't be recovered. Filmo doesn't check whether it's in use before deleting it. Lines already on orders keep the copy they were added with.
