Set an item's sale price

Give an item a sale price per unit to sell it on orders, and a minimum stock so Filmo suggests what to restock on purchase orders.

People with the «Inventory» permission in edit mode. With view mode you can open items but not change them.

Rental companies sell too: spare parts, consumables, or used equipment. Say Landmark Venues likes the Chiavari chairs so much that it wants to buy 20 after the wedding. Give the chairs a and you can sell them on any order.

The sale price is a price per unit. Unlike the rental price, it isn't multiplied by days.

Set the sale price of the chairs

  1. Open the item In «Inventory» → «Items», click the Chiavari chair.
  2. Open the price card On the «Summary» tab, open «Price settings» and click «Edit».
  3. Enter the price In «Sale», type 25 in «Sale price».
  4. Save Click «Save».
«Minimum stock» and «EAN code» are in the same section.

When you add the chairs to an order as a , the line starts at €25 each. See Sell items on an order.

What selling does to your stock

  • Items counted , like the chairs: when the sale line is delivered, the quantity sold leaves the stock, and shows it as a negative movement. If you cancel the delivered sale, the chairs come back.
  • Items with : the unit becomes «Sold» and can no longer go on orders. «Undo sale» on its page brings it back. See Serial number statuses.

Other ways to do it

A sale price for each variant

Each can have its own «Sale price», and , in its row of «Variants and accessories». See Add variants to an item.

The barcode

«EAN code», in the same «Sale» section, holds the item's commercial barcode. Filmo warns if another item or variant already uses it. See the article on item codes.

Set minimum stock and restock items

Selling the chairs leaves you fewer to rent. «Minimum stock», also in «Sale», tells Filmo how many you always want available: “If the available stock falls below this minimum, the item will appear as a need when creating a purchase order”.

  1. Open the price card On the chair's «Summary» tab, open «Price settings» and click «Edit».
  2. Set the minimum In «Sale», type 100 in «Minimum stock».
  3. Save Click «Save».

Here's where the minimum shows up:

  • When you search for items to add to a , the «Needs» section suggests the ones below their minimum, with the current stock, the minimum and the item's supplier.
  • For those suggestions, available means the stock you own minus what active rental orders still hold and what confirmed sales still have to take out.
  • When you reserve an order whose sale lines leave the chairs below 100, Filmo shows “Low minimum stock” but lets you carry on. Rental lines never trigger this warning.
  • In «All items», the «Below minimum» filter lists every item under its minimum.

Note: A variant with its own «Minimum stock» is checked on its own, against that variant's stock. The item's minimum covers the variants that don't have one. The warning when reserving only looks at the item's minimum.
