Move from Rentman in one import

  • Platform

Move equipment, contacts and job history from Rentman to Filmo with an import managed by the Filmo team.

The migration brings across equipment and serial numbers, contacts, projects with their orders, quotes, invoices and payments. Instead of rebuilding each client and item, you can find the imported records in Filmo's usual modules. Imported documents keep their Rentman numbers, while new work uses Filmo's numbering.

The Filmo team handles the import during onboarding. Together you agree the destination account, currency, tax country and treatment of past work. The team reviews a trial before loading the data. This is a copy at a point in time: later changes in either system don't travel to the other.

Imagine a rental company moving between two event weekends. Last month's jobs may belong in its history, but next week's lighting order still needs the right stock, crew and transport. Review that distinction before the move, then check upcoming orders and availability before preparing the first delivery in Filmo.

Case contents need a physical check: an imported relationship does not prove which serialized unit is actually in a flight case. Prices, taxes, unfinished repairs and future orders also deserve a review. Wait for the team to confirm the final load before editing imported records, because another load can overwrite those edits.

The guides and recordings below describe Filmo today. Screens and available options may have changed since this update.

Start with how the Rentman migration works and what is imported. Historical mode closes all work in that load and holds no stock; agree its use with the team rather than assuming upcoming jobs will remain reserved.

After the final load, follow the post-import checklist: sample item prices and taxes, check invoice numbering, resolve finished repairs and review future jobs. Use the case contents guide to compare imported assignments with the equipment inside each case.
