Cookie policy

This policy describes cookies and browser storage on the Filmo website and documentation. Cookies remember preferences or help measure visits and advertising. Filmo App S.L. is responsible for this website. You can contact us at privacy@filmo.io.

1. Your choice

You can accept or reject Google measurement and advertising cookies in the banner. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings in the footer or the button on this page. Rejecting them does not prevent you from browsing or requesting a demo.

This website uses advanced Consent Mode. Before you accept, Google storage and advertising consent are denied by default. The Google tag can receive cookieless measurement signals, including your IP address, browser information and a cleaned page URL. Accepting enables Google cookies; rejecting or withdrawing consent keeps Google storage denied and deletes accessible Google cookies.

The consent choice is shared with the Filmo app through filmo.io. Technical documentation on docs.filmo.io does not load the Google tag.

2. Preference cookies

  • filmo_consent — Filmo; remembers your acceptance or rejection; 180 days. Shared on filmo.io and its subdomains.
  • NEXT_LOCALE — Filmo; remembers your selected language; 1 year.
  • filmo_theme — Filmo; remembers light, dark or system appearance; 1 year. Shared on filmo.io and its subdomains.

3. Google Analytics and Google Ads

Our Google Analytics 4 measurement ID is G-YB9XF74ZP7 and our Google Ads tag ID is AW-18363209116. These are tag identifiers, not cookie names. The following first-party Google cookies depend on your consent and, for advertising attribution, your interaction with an ad:

  • _ga — Google Analytics; distinguishes visitors; default duration: 2 years.
  • _ga_YB9XF74ZP7 — Google Analytics; maintains session state for this property; default duration: 2 years.
  • _gcl_au, _gcl_aw and _gcl_dc — Google advertising and conversion measurement; associate ad interactions with actions on the website when applicable; default duration: 90 days.

Actual lifetimes may be shorter because of browser restrictions or Google settings; they can renew on a later visit. Not every visitor receives every cookie. Google's own services may use additional cookies when you visit them. See Google's cookie information and the Privacy Policy for provider processing, transfers and your rights.

4. Other browser storage

filmo_attribution and filmo_first_touch use session storage, not cookies. They keep the campaign, entry page and referral context for the current tab session so that a request or trial can retain its origin. They are removed when the tab session ends.

Help, Academy and Docs can use local storage to remember completed lessons, article feedback and your preferred code language. This storage has no automatic expiry and remains until you clear the site's browser data. It is not used for Google advertising.

Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights measure website use and performance without setting analytics cookies.

5. Changing or deleting cookies

Use Cookie settings to withdraw or grant Google consent. You can also delete or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Deleting preference cookies can reset your language, theme and consent choice. Blocking them does not unsubscribe you from the newsletter; use the unsubscribe link in an email for that.
